A Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) truck parked at Lilypond in Ijora area of Lagos was on Thursday afternoon set on fire by suspected hoodlums who resisted attempt by security agencies to make the port access road motorable.
According to eye witnesses, the hoodlums who were armed with machetes , sticks and other dangerous weapons had resisted the security agencies which prompted the security officers to apply tear gas in dispersing them.
It was in the process that the NPA vehicle was set ablaze.
Condemning the activities of the miscreants, an official of NPA, said the security agents were out to ensure sanity, promote ease of doing business in line with industry Standard Operating Procedure.
Three suspects were said to have been arrested in connection with the incident.
