A chieftain of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayan, has debunked the rumour that the party was in crisis, describing it as the handwork of detractors who do not wish the party well.
Rimin Zayan, a former PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, told journalists in Bauchi that though the former ruling party in the state and national level was facing some challenges, there was no crisis rocking PDP in the state.
According to the former PDP publicity secretary, the challenges in the party are normal in any gathering of people.
He stated that despite the challenges, efforts were being made to unite members of the party in Bauchi State as well as adopt new approach to doing things in the party.
“As I am talking to you, there is no crisis rocking PDP in Bauchi State. We want to unite our members and bring a new approach to the way things are done,” Rimin Zayan said.
He noted that the party comprises members with different views, interests, opinions, missions and aspirations, hence it is not surprising for people to have misunderstandings and deviant behaviours within the party.
“As human beings, we have ambitions and we are different in our approaches. No two humans are the same, so we cannot deny the fact that some of us who are deviant in behaviour are causing friction among the political class.
“That is why we want to unite our members and bring a new approach to the way things are done before,” he said.
He said that the insinuation that PDP was facing crisis in the state because a former governor of the state, Mallam Isa Yuguda, dumped the party was not true, declaring that the party will continue to grow at the state and even at the national level with or without Yuguda.
He frowned against using youths to castigate leadership of the party, saying it will not take PDP anywhere.
He thereby advised that the youth should be empowered to promote peaceful existence among members of the society.
