NNPC/Shell Cup zonal preliminaries loom

State champions are getting set for the zonal preliminaries of the All Nigeria Secondary Schools Football Championship tagged “NNPC/Shell Cup”.
Championship Director, Shola Akinwale, said all things being equal, the zonal preliminaries would hold as planned even as “we are still expecting some tates to play their finals. Once we conclude such finals, we would commence the zonal preliminaries.
“We are on top of the situation and very soon, other state finals would be decided and the results would be out before we go into the zonal preliminaries where nine centers have been picked for the quarterfinalists to emerge.
Zonal preliminaries hold from Monday, April 11 to Friday, April 15 at the nine designated venues.
Dipo Dina Memorial International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State will host the quarterfinal matches from Monday, April 25 to Wednesday, April 27.
The semifinal and final matches will come up at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos from Friday, April 29 to Thursday, May 5.
This year’s edition will be the first time the final will take place during the week; so that pupils can troop out to cheer their teams.
