The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has clarified its earlier statement on the take off of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), saying it has not started bulk sales.
The company made this known on Friday via a statement released by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye.
According to him, the essential processes for the refinery are still being finalized.

He added that the products the refinery currently sells originated from the Dangote Refinery and it includes applicable fees by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Soneye said, “Products from PHRC are exclusively for our retail stores at this stage. Our pricing is reviewed and adjusted periodically as necessary to reflect operational realities,” the statement read.
He further urged the public to disregard any misleading information regarding pricing, adding that official announcements will be made if and when price reviews occur.
NNPCL in a statement on Tuesday said
the Nigeria’s owned Port Harcourt Refinery had commenced the production of petroleum products.
After the announcement, however, some Nigerians expressed doubt, alleging it was an attempt by the President Tinubu-led government to score cheap point.
