Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has urged Yoruba leaders to stop the violence against Igbo in Lagos State.
Following the loss of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Party (APC) to Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) in the south-west state in the recently concluded presidential election, Yoruba and Igbo have been at loggerheads.
In an attempt to ensure the ruling party doesn’t suffer a similar fate in the governorship election two weeks later, an APC chieftain and Lagos State Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, threatened Igbo via a social media post.
The Director, Media and Publicity of APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, also cautioned Igbo residents in Lagos against interfering in politics in the state.
He said: “Let 2023 be the last time of Igbo interference in Lagos politics.
“Let there be no repeat in 2027.”

In addition to these, there were allegations that Igbo voters were targeted and attacked during the guber election in Lagos State.
Reacting to the developments, Ejimakor who felt these acts were unbecoming in a tweet described the violence against Igbo in the south-west state as a “mini-genocide”.
The lawyer went on to say any Yoruba leader who keeps mum on the issue is an accomplice of those perpetrating the act.
Taking to social media he tweeted: “Dear Yoruba leaders: I demand that you immediately halt the anti-Igbo violence raging in LAGOS. It’s a mini-GENOCIDE & your silence makes you complicit when time for reckoning comes.
“I’m not an Igbo leader, but I’m sure the 70 million Igbos worldwide are with me on this. Oh, #MNK.”
