Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ejimakor, claims Buhari fueled insecurity in South East

Ejimakor also wondered why the UK govt  didn’t stop Kanu’s extradition like it did in the case involving Umaru Dikko in 1984

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that the decision of former President Muhammadu Buhari to arrest and detain his client fuelled insecurity in the South East.

The lawyer made this known recently on his X page, formerly Twitter, while expressing surprise that Buhari’s successor,  President Bola Tinubu followed in the footsteps of his predecessor by ensuring the continuous incarceration of the Biafra agitator.

Ejimakor, in the now viral post, noted that Kanu’s arrest, rendition, and detention were part of the agenda by the former president to fuel insecurity in the South East.

He further said the resort to civil disobedience for the release of Kanu is because the British government did not intervene in Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and detention like it did in 1984 when it stopped the Nigerian government from smuggling  Umaru Dikko into the country.

Addressing Kanu’s continuous detention, Ejimakor tweeted: “Buhari’s rendition/detention of Nnamdi Kanu and his violent suppression of dissent in Southeast were part of his broader agenda to fuel insecurity in Igboland.

“It’s baffling that a smarter @officialABAT has allowed this to continue by not releasing #MNK. It’s a vicious cycle.

“The focus on the judiciary & resort to civil disobedience for the release of MAZI NNAMDI KANU is only because Britain has been reluctant to levy her diplomatic clout like it did in the case of the attempted rendition of Umaru Dikko in 1984. @RishiSunak must rise to the occasion.”
