According to the initiator of the tourney, Godwin Dudu Orumen, all the six participating teams are expected to arrive on Monday, May 5, while the tournament proper kicks off by 8am next day.

“We’ve put all machinery in place for the success of the tournament and we expect to have a good organisation.

“The Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tamuno Danagogo, is expected as the Guest of Honour,” he said.

According to him, the six teams are Royal Football Academy, Cowbell Football Academy, Lagos State Football Academicals, Edo State Football Academicals, Sdarus Sports Academy and the City of David (COD) Academy.

“It promises to be an exciting tournament for grassroots development, and it will be great if our football administrators are part of the tournament.

“We can have our future Under-13 and Under-17 teams at the end of this tournament. That is the assurance I can give you,” Orumen added.
