Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside has assumed duty as Director General/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
Peterside, the immediate-past Rivers State governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress in the 2015 election, was appointed by the Federal Government on Thursday last week as Director General of NIMASA for a four’-year term.
Hajia Lami Tumaka, Head, Public Relations of NIMASA, in a statement on Tuesday said the new DG arrived at NIMASA Head Office on 4, Burma Road, Apapa earlier in the day and went immediately into a closed door meeting with members of Senior Management of the agency.
Peterside, who observed that he is aware that NIMASA has some very competent hands, also solicited the cooperation of the staff to reposition the agency for greater productivity.
He noted that he is in NIMASA to serve the nation and humanity and expressed his readiness to partner with all stakeholders with a view to positively impact the maritime sector and the Nigerian economy at large.
