President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to go after bandits and ISWAP leaders the same way he ensured the arrest and extradition of the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,

Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, announced Kanu’s arrest via a statement published by NAN. An amateur’s photo of Kanu in handcuffs was later shared on social media.

But Nigerians want the same level of precision the government applied in the arrest of the secessionist agitator on bandits and ISWAP members who have been terrorizing Nigerians.

ISWAP is the acronym for the Islamic State in West African Province. It is a group that seeks the Islamization of Nigeria and Africa as a whole. It is the branch of ISIS, which is the global jihadist body that wants to conquer the world and model it after the seventh century Islamic caliphate system of theocracy.

A tweet by @DrOlufunmilayo said: “Federal Govt has arrested Nnamdi Kanu- all the resources available were deployed to arrest and extradite the man back to Nigeria. So, how about the leader of ISWAP? How about Shekau’s successor leading Boko Haram now? When are we going to use all we have to get them? Or no need?”

Another tweet from @nigeria said: “Buhari was determined to get Nnamdi Kanu…..almost as if he was pursuing a personal vendetta…..He should also show that same level of determination with the bandits and ISWAP…..”

@Tee_Clasdiquem1 said: “Federal Government can go as far as collaborating with Interpol just to arrest Nnamdi Kanu but Gumi is still walking freely and Isa Pantami still has an office in Abuja.”

@firstladyship said: “IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and the Twitter ban has shown that Nigeria has all it takes to arrest Sheikh Gumi, end banditry and Boko Haram/ISWAP menace in Nigeria. Sani Abacha said and I quote; ‘any Insurgency that lasts more than 24hrs, government officials have a hand in it.”
