Nigerian have expressed mixed reactions to the social media broadcast by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where he eulogised Nigerian music superstars such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and a host of others.

Tinubu, in the broadcast video released on his verified Twitter handle on Friday, August 12, to commemorate the 2022 International Youth Day, celebrated the artistes for taking the Nigerian entertainment industry to the next level.

The former Lagos State governor acknowledged the role that Nigerian music plays in enhancing the image of the country globally, labelling Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Davido, Tems Wizkid, and as ‘Nigerian ambassadors of hope’.

Tinubu said, “Our music is moving people and making them dance in major venues across the world.

“Every day they keep breaking new boundaries and records in almost every human endeavour. The creativity that lives in the heart of the average Nigerian youth shines bright like the sun,”

The APC chieftain went on to applaud athletes such as Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume, Favour Ofili, and a host of others, for making Nigeria proud on the world stage.

Responding to the broadcast, some members of the online community who commented wondered if it was truly a heartfelt message or another political gimmick aimed at cajoling the youth to vote for him during the 2023 presidential election.

Some netizens who trooped to the comment section, chastised the APC presidential flag bearer for omitting notable entertainers like Don Jazzy, Olamide and others.

However, there were a few others who hailed Tinubu for making the broadcast on a day dedicated to the youth, saying the gesture proved that he is actually of a sound mind.
