Nigerians laugh off Tinubu sacking Bawa, say those under probe are behind it

Nigerians on social media, from legal luminary Olisa Agbakoba to regular folks on the street, have questioned the sincerity of Bola Tinubu in suspending Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chairman AbdulRasheed Bawa, arguing the President is merely putting up a show to protect corrupt political elephants in the room.
They cited how famous faces of alleged corruption who bestrode Muhammadu Buhari’s eight years of the locust are openly enjoying their loot without Tinubu ordering their arrest and prosecution.
They asked, Why not investigate Hadi Sirika, the former Aviation Minister whom federal lawmakers alleged committed a scam in floating Nigeria Air? What has Tinubu done about ‘Madam Palliates’?
They also asked, so, will Tinubu sack Mahmoud Yakubu who, as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), conducted “the 2023 elections [which] are the worst in our history”?
