Nigeria is the hardest place to do business, so says social media users who are crying foul over the refusal of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mohammed Bello to allow the biggest billboard in the world to be erected in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

According to them, authorities reversed themselves and opposed the site approved for the erection of the billboard.

Lona risks losing about N800 million and may go into debt if the billboard is not erected.

Nigerians are comparing the billboard to a political one in which the FCT approved the erection of giant broom which is a symbol of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). https://twitter.com/MrStanleyNwabia/status/1115648293730758657

The hashtag, #OppressingBusinessesInNaija has remained a top trend on Twitter, Tuesday following the refusal of FCT to authorities to allow the billboard to go up.

In 2018, Nigeria dropped from Ease of Doing Business ranking by World Bank after the country had moved up few places in 2017 following an Executive Order signed by then Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
