Nigerians have asked the Senior Pastor of the Citadel Global Community Church, formerly known as the Latter Rain Assembly, to tender an unreserved apology for claiming that God told him Nigeria would be stabilized under President Muhammadu Buhari.

The demand was also extended to Reverend Father Mbaka, who also made a similar claim when he supported Buhari to become Nigeria’s president.

April 26, was particularly gruesome for Nigeria, beginning with the report of an Airforce fighter jet accidentally bombing Nigerian troops. The strings of bad news follow with a report of Boko Haram overrunning a military formation, killing scores of soldiers, including the Battalion Commander. Also, gunmen killed five soldiers in Rivers. Then kidnappers abducted two Federal University of Agriculture students on their campus in Benue. Also sadly, two of the abducted students of the Greenfield University in Kaduna were killed by their abductors.  Three of the abducted students were killed last week. Also, yesterday, bandits formally took over about 50 communities in Niger State.

What a way to stabilize Nigeria, many Nigerians have said of the Pastor Bakare’s prophesy.

@jaynaija.com said: “Tunde bakare and Father Mbaka lied on God. They told us back then that God said Buhari would stabilize Nigeria… Jonathan Time was clear and better, but we change. Now we are in shambles.”

@nigeriasbest said: “That’s also the trap Tunde Bakare has fallen into…. He has convinced himself & his congregation that his political aims are also God’s aims.… Wetin concern God with APC/PDP? Any pastor who desires to run for office should do so without hiding behind the pulpit…”

@iSlimfit said: “Tunde Bakare owes no human any apology. His apology won’t fix anything. He owes God and his conscience a big apology.”
