Nigerians are asking the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, whether ransom was paid to secure the release of the members who were abducted in Kaduna State.

Eight members of the RCCG were abducted on Friday, March 26, while on their way to evangelize in Kafachan, a Southern Kaduna area of Kaduna State.

According to media reports, the kidnappers intercepted the RCCG bus along the Kachia – Kafachan road, and took eight of the RCCG members, all missionaries, into the bush before placing N50million ransom for their release.

On April 8, Adeboye, using his verified Twitter handle, said: “Today I got the exciting news that our brethren who were in the captivity of kidnappers have all been released and taken to the hospital for checkup and tests. Glory be to Jesus. We pray for lasting peace in all troubled regions of the country in Jesus name.”

@MelaninQ9 asked: “Quick question- Is there anything you did apart from praying to secure their release…”

@victor_fubi also queried: “Tell us the complete story, sir. Tell us if you people paid the RANSOM.”

@Drken_emeka simply replied to Adeboye’s tweet: “Woooooow the ransom was successfully paid, it’s all good.”

@Bodasam_ also responded to the tweet: “Hallelujah the ransom has been successful delivered, Kidnapping industry keep growing everyday . Nigeria which way abeg.”
