Nigerian woman, Pelumi Nubi, who began a road trip from London on January 30, 2024, has arrived in Nigeria.
The 29-year-old was received by Lagos State Government officials on her arrival on Sunday morning at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border.
Lagos State Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, received the travel content creator.
There were also performances by the state’s cultural troupe.
Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, said on social media that the welcome ceremony was organised by the government.

He wrote on social media, “Lagos State Government gives a hero’s welcome to peluminubi_ , a Nigeria-British citizen who who did a solo drive from London to Lagos.”
On arrival at the border, Nubi was left in tears when she saw her father and the welcome ceremony organised in her honour.
She shared a video of the emotional moment on Instagram where she has been updating the public about the trip.
Nubi will also be received at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
The Nigerian-British citizen embarked on her solo trip in a car named Lumi on January 30, 2024.
