The Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, on Tuesday March 30, 2021, demolished the Crocodiles of Lesotho 3-0 in their final qualifier AFCON group L match played in Taslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The Nigerian team had qualified for the tournament in Cameroun next year before its victory in Porto Novo against the Benin side at the weekend after Sierra Leone played goaless against Lesotho in Freetown.
With goals from Victor Osimhen, Oghenekaro Etebo and Paul Onuachu, the Super Eagles returned to playing in Lagos after 20 years in great style.
The classy soccer display of the Super Eagles was too much for the Crocodiles of Losetho to stop.
Osimhen opened scores in the 27th minute after his first effort in the 20th minute was ruled out as off-side.
Second half began with more pressure from the Nigerian side, which came to fruition when Etebo scored.
The man, who scored the winning goal off the bench in Benin Republic a forthnight ago, Paul Onuachu, repeated the feat in Lagos with a thunderous strike. He substituted Osimhen, in a game Alex Iwobi shone like a star after he tested negative to COVID-19.
