Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Ondo State Chapter inaugurates new Executive Council

……aiming to redefine Public Relations practice as a tool for development in governance

The Ondo State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inaugurated its newly elected executive members aiming to redefine Public Relations practice as a tool for development in governance.

In a statement issued by its Public Relations Executive, Asagunla Oluwafunke ANIPR in Akure, the state capital noted that the inauguration ceremony was held at Ruby’s Court Event Center, Oke-Ijebu Akure, on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

According to the statement, the 8th newly inaugurated Executive Committee of the institute would lead the Ondo State Chapter for a two-year term.

These accomplished professionals in the field of Public Relations include, Mr. Funmilayo Ikueduranni ANIPR – Chairman, Mrs. Taiye Fagbuyi ANIPR – Vice-Chairman, Mr. Sunday Omosule ANIPR – General Secretary, Mr. Augustine Adeoye ANIPR – Assistant General Secretary

Others are Mrs. Folashade Oladehinde MNIPR – Financial Secretary, Mrs. Itunu Lijofi MNIPR – Treasurer, Mrs. Oluwafunke Asagunla ANIPR – Public Relations Executive and Mrs. Olatuyi Oluseto ANIPR – Auditor

In his acceptance speech, the chairman Mr. Funmilayo Ikueduranni ANIPR expressed his deep gratitude to the NIPR Ondo State Chapter for entrusting him with this leadership role.

He commended the immediate past executives led by Dr. Lamidi Ishola FNIPR for laying a strong foundation for the NIPR in Ondo State.

Ikueduranni outlined his ten-point agenda for the institute, aiming to redefine Public Relations practice as a tool for development in governance.

His agenda includes, enhancing membership engagement and responsiveness through an Internal Reward Scheme known as IREWA, Implementing Development Communication strategies to address socio-economic issues in Ondo State, fostering a more inclusive and relationship-driven community among members, providing advisory and public relations consultancy services to governmental and non-governmental organizations and collaborating with media organizations to promote social, economic, and educational values.

Other agenda are Strengthening financial responsibility and accountability among members, Initiating the establishment of an NIPR school and examination center in Ondo State, Focusing on the development of the Chapter’s land property, Establishing a functional state secretariat for improved service delivery and Enhancing the Chapter’s relevance in the realm of information and communication technology (ICT) among others

Ikueduranni therefore called for the support of all members in elevating the standards of Public Relations to new heights.

“The actualisation of this mission within the precinct of my 10-point agenda is possible and achievable with your support and the willingness to work and make sacrifices as professional colleagues. I don’t have doubts in my mind that the needed Transformation of Public Relations practise in Ondo-state towards engendering all round development is beginning now”, he added.
