Nigerian govt grants duty waiver to imported medical equipment

Fresh indications have emerged that the federal government of Nigeria may have concluded plans to waive duty payable on imported medical equipment.

   Tolu Ogunlesi, the special assistant to the president on digital and new media tweeted on Tuesday that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved that import duty be waived for medical equipment and supplies.

    The tweet explained that the purpose of the duty waiver on such commodities was to “strengthen health infrastructure” in response to the COVID19 pandemic.
