Nigerian envoy to Sudan, Saban, bags Pataskum traditional title

Nigerian Ambassador  to Sudan,  Ambassador Musa Mamman Saban, has been conferred with the traditional title of Wakilin Pataskum by the Emir of Pataskum, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya, for his contribution to the development of the Emirate, Yobe State and Nigeria.

The occasion attracted important personalities,  Yobe State, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, was represented by the Secretary to the State Government,  Baba Malam Wali, Commissioner of Works Housing and Transport, Lawan Shettima Ali, members of the diplomatic team among others.

  After the turbaning, the Emir said that the decision to confer the Ambassador with the title was reached after thorough consultations with all stakeholders.

  Ambassador Musa Mamman Saban was born in Potiskum Town in 1967.

  He attended Buraima Primary School,  Potiskum 1974-1980, Government Day Secondary School,  Potiskum 1980-1985 from there he got admitted into Borno College of Education,  Science and Technology,  Bama 1987.

  In pursuit of his academic career gained admission at the University of Maiduguri 1988-1991, foreign service academy,  Lagos 1993-1994, Nkumba University, Etembe,  Uganda 2003-2005.

  The new Wakilin Pataskum attended several courses such at Foreign Service Academy,  Lagos, course for senior African Diplomat,  Beijing, China in 2007 and CMB Abuja.

 His previous deployments include

inspectorate department,  federal ministry of foreign affairs,  Abuja 1993-1998, Nigeria High Commission,  Hawa,  Canada 1998-2000.

Others are Asia and Pacific division,  federal ministry of foreign affairs,  Abuja 2000-2003, Nigeria High Commission,  Kampala,  Uganda. 

  He was also at the appointment of  Promotion and Establishment Division (APED), Foreign Affairs Ministry,  Embassy of Nigeria, Lome,  Togo. Embassy of Nigeria at Harare,  Zimbabwe,  Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Jedda,  Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Embassy to Nigeria,  Khartoum,  Sudan.

  In his vote of thanks,  Ambassador Musa Mamman Saban expressed gratitude to the emirate, people of Potiskum Town and Yobe State for recognizing his contribution with a honour.  He promised to to support the development of the people.
