The immediate former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko, is dead.
According to his younger brother who is the district head of Musawa community in Katsina State, Dikko died on Thursday, February 18 at the age of 61.
According to a PREMIUM TIMES report, Dikko had been battling cancer for a while until he gave up in an Abuja hospital.
“I was in the hospital yesterday between 4 pm and 5 pm yesterday (Wednesday) and the doctor said he was improving and that if he made it to Sunday, we are good,” the newspaper quoted a close associate to the former Customs boss.
He said Mr Dikko had sought treatment abroad for his condition.
“He came back to Nigeria to recuperate two months ago but it (cancer) came back aggressive two weeks ago,” he added.
