Nigerian Air Force Jet crashes in Borno

A Nigerian Air Force jet stationed in Borno State in the continuous fight against Boko Haram insurgents, has reportedly crashed.

The military Mi-35 Helicopter was on a training mission, according to information released by the Defence Headquaters but crashed as a result of a technical fault at a location not far from the Bama forest.

In a statement, Major General Chris Olukolade, Defence spokesperson; said the crash occurred in the troubled state of Borno where Nigerian security agents and Boko Haram insurgents have continued to do battle for several months. Without providing details regarding likely casualties or injuries, Olukolade said investigation has commenced into the accident.
