Nigeria will soon overcome its challenges – Speaker Dogara

Dogara

Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara has called on Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and other government officials in this trying moment of the nation’s history.

Dogara said despite the hardships and many other challenges the country is facing, the administration is determined to surmount them and bring back the country onto the right track.

Speaking during Christmas service at Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Gwarangah, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Dogara said every generation has had its own peculiar challenges but expressed hope that Nigeria will soon overcome hers.

He, however, noted that in recent weeks and days “many people have been asking where is the change, what is the future of this country?”

The Speaker reminded the congregation that Nigeria is not the only country facing some challenges in the world, as he noted that “Europe is struggling with refugees, Arab countries are in tumoil while some countries are even failed states.

“Here in Nigeria, the greatest challenge is that of drop in revenue, and income distribution which he said are problems that were inherited adding, “before this government took over, workers in many states were not paid salaries for months, our economy badly damaged, there was massive looting.”

Expressing optimism for a better tomorrow, Dogara said: “We have a leadership that has emerged with a will to take the challenges. Of course it will take time. The President was humble enough to apologise to Nigerians for the hardship over fuel scarcity.

“Every generation has come with some peculiar problems and also come with men and women that will help overcome those challenges.

“That is the message of hope that I bring to you. Working together, we will be able to solve those problems.”

He also urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in prayers for the leaders, adding, “We should all pray for the President for divine wisdom and also all leaders because when they do well, our people will do well.”
