Nigerian central midfielder, Innocent Bonke, has now joined Ekong on the sideline and has also been ruled out of the game against Sao Tome and Principe.
The Lorient player picked up the injury in Nigeria’s 2-1 international friendly loss to Mexico last month in the United States.
Innocent Bonke was replaced in the match by Katsina United defender Sani Faisal and didn’t quite recover to participate in the AFCON qualifiers.
He jetted out to France on Saturday, June 12 to continue his treatment and recovery and will not be a part of Nigeria’s clash with Sao Tome at the Stade Adrar Stadium.
