Super Falcons of Nigeria have stormed the port city and commercial hub of Morocco, Casablanca, for their quarter-final fixture against Cameroon at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
The players, technical team, and other officials arrived in Casablanca on Monday afternoon and went straight to the Novotel Hotel, Mohammedia, where they are logged.
The highly anticipated last-eight clash is expected to take place on Thursday, July 14, at the Stade Mohamed V.

Nigerias’ arrival was announced via a tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Super Falcons that read:
“Hi Casablanca,
“We’ve arrived safely in Casablanca in the build-up to our #WAFCON2022 quarterfinal showdown with Cameroon on Thursday, July 14. On arrival, we were immediately lodged at Novotel Hotel in Mohammedia,”
The defending champions qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament after breezing past the Swallows of Burundi in their final group game on Sunday night.
Nigeria finished behind Group C leader, Banyana Banyana of South Africa, while Cameroon came second after Zambia pipped them to the first position in Group A to set up the mouth-watering last 8 encounter.
The winner of the clash will progress to the semi-finals stage and book a spot at the Women’s 2023 World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Sadly, this means one of the two highest-ranked female football sides in Africa will miss the World Cup, raising the stake in the Thursday encounter which will kick off at 6 pm Nigerian time.
