Organized Labour in Niger State has said that it would commence three days

warning strike, beginning from Friday July 24, 2020 if the state government could not reverse its resolve to pay June salaries

on percentage basis.

It also said that the workers have resolved to embark on fasting and prayers for divine intervention.

The Organized Labour, in a letter with Ref No: OL/NS/040/GEN/Vol.2/91 dated July 9, 2020, to the state government said that the workers remained resolute in their stand that, either the state government rescinds its

decision or face industrial unrest.

“Niger State government through the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, as aired on the state-owned media conveying Mr.

Governor’s directive to the Ministry of Finance and the office of the

Head of Service to commence payment of June salaries of civil servants at state and local government level”, this the organized labour in the

state said would be resisted.

“Organized Labour in Niger state wishes to make it clear to Nigerlites and civil servants in particular that it was never part of the decision and wish to condemn the state government’s action in its entirety”.
