Niger DPO rescued alive from kidnappers

The Sarkin-Pawa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Munya Local
Government Area of Niger State Police Command, who was kidnapped
Sunday evening by unknown gun men in Nigerian Army camouflage have regained freedom.

The DPO was kidnapped at about 6: 30pm while on his Peugeot 406 car around his residence, Tudun-Fulani, in Bosso local government council on his way back to
duty post after visiting his family in Minna.

Niger State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austin Iwero Agbonlahor, disclosed this to our correspondent.
He said that the DPO was rescued alongside five others from their captors’ den inside new Kabula forest by the command’s Rescue Operation Team.
Meanwhile, the police commissioner has explained efforts being made by the command to safeguard lives and properties of citizenry with the
identification of some criminal hideouts in parts of the state.
He said that criminals were not ghosts but humans who live among us, while
soliciting for the support and assistance of Nigerlites to report suspicious movements and assembly to the nearest police station for immediate actions.
