The Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly (NSHA), Hon. Bako Kasim Alfa, representing Bida 1, has resigned from his position as the deputy speaker of the House.
Kasim Alfa, representing Bida 1 in the assembly tendered his resignation via a letter he submitted to the Speaker NSHA, Hon. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse, which was also read at the floor of the house during yesterday’s plenary.
The Speaker, Abdullahi Bawa Wuse, read the letter from Alfa at the floor of the House on Thursday.
Though no reason was given for his action, the resignation of Alfa may not be unconnected with the irreconcilable leadership crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State. Meanwhile, to avoid creating a vacuum, the House yesterday nominated, Hon. Jibrin Ndagi Baba representing Lavun constituency to fill the vacant position as the new deputy speaker of the State Assembly.
