A high-ranking board member of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) has argued that sacking Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, will be a breach of contract.

Calls for the dismissal of the 68-year-old assumed a serious dimension after another underwhelming performance yesterday in the 1-1 draw against Cape Verde.

Fans and pundits have questioned the technical depth of the German despite the teams’ qualification for a spot in the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup.

Rohr extended his contract one year ago till after the Qatar 2022 World Cup, but with some clauses that the contract can be terminated if he fails to meet certain conditions.

With calls for his sack gaining momentum, one NFF topshot, whose name was not mentioned, told OwnGoalNigeria.com that it will amount to a breach of contract if Rohr is sacked, as he met the conditions that could trigger a termination of his appointment.

*It’s impossible for now I must confess. Let me say it’s very difficult because in life nothing is entirely impossible. We set some targets for him as part of the terms of clauses that can lead to the termination of his job.

” So far he hasn’t fallen short. Firing him will amount to paying an exorbitant fee and also amount to a breach of contract. It’s not straightforward”, the NFF topshot said.
