A board member of Nigerian football Federal (NFF), Nse Essien has said the Football House was considering a plan to replace Jose Peseiro as Head Coach of the Super Eagles following a series of dismal performances by the national team.

Mr Essien was reported to have indicated that the NFF was trying to source funds to pay the Portuguese coach before showing him the way out.

Nigeria has just two point from possible six, after their two games of the qualifiers for 2026 world Cup, following a draw against Lesotho in Uyo and Zimbabwe in Rwanda.

The dismal result has Mr Peseiro under pressure while many football loving fans are calling for him to be relieved as the senior team tactician.

A former technical director of the NFF, Tunde Disu has tipped Salisu Yusuf as the potential replace of Mr Peseiro.

However, Nigerians are looking with keen interest who should lead the national team in the event of Mr Peseiro’s exit.
