Next year’s Big Brother will feature South African housemates, says Multichoice

The CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe announced on Thursday that the Big Brother Naija show will be merged with the South Africans

MultiChoice Group is switching things up with a new Big Brother show. This time, it’s Big Brother Naija + SA. Housemates will be made up of Nigerians and South Africans.

Big Brother Naija, formerly known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a Nigerian reality competition television series, based on the Big Brother television franchise, in which contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize and other material prizes.

The first season of the show first aired on M-Net and DStv Channel 37 from 5 March to 4 June 2006. The voting results were verified by the auditing company of Alexander-Forbes.

The CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe announced on Thursday at the MultiChoice Media Showcase event in Lagos, that the Big Brother Naija show will be merged with the South Africans and the show will be happening “sometime next year”, so, fingers crossed.

Barely a month to the season finale of the show’s seventh season tagged ‘Level Up’. With 13 housemates currently running for this year’s N100 million grand prize, the show has entertained fans with unexpected twists and turns.

Season seven got off to an exciting start in August with 22 housemates split into two levels. In an unprecedented move, Big Brother introduced two fake housemates and two riders. The season also saw a surprise eviction and a disqualification in its second week.
