Watford loss against Brentford means Newcastle United or Burnley could move out of the relegation zone if they win

The race at the bottom of the English Premier League is beginning to heat up as teams who were hitherto safe are now being drawn into the relegation dogfight.
William Trost-Ekong and his teammates at Watford gave Newcastle United and Burnley a lifeline after throwing away a lead at Brentford to lose the game 2-1.
Had they won or held on for a draw in the game, neither Newcastle United nor Burnley would have been able to catch up with them even if they win today.
Burnley play at home in Turf Moor against 4th placed and high flying West Ham United today, and a slim win over The Harmers, will see them leapfrog Watford into the 16th position.

Newcastle United have a more difficult assignment, as they will need a bigger win away to Leicester City to leave the relegation zone.
Norwich played Man United yesterday and missed an opportunity to leave the bottom of the league after Cristiano Ronaldo dispatched a 75th minute penalty to narrowly win their encounter 1-0 for the red half of Manchester.
Southamptons’ 3-0 defeat to Arsenal yesterday and Leeds’ last minute loss to Chelsea also mean they remain close to the relegation zone.
Crystal Palace in the 14th position are also too close for comfort, they must get a result against Everton today to stop looking over their shoulders in the relegation fight.
