The newly appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, was sworn into office on Wednesday by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The swearing-in, which took place inside the council chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, was coordinated by a presidential aide, Tijjani Yusuf.

The occasion was attended by the Governor of Adamawa State, Mohammed Jibrilla. Adamawa is Mustapha’s home state.

The new SGF replaced Engineer Babachir David Lawal who was appointed SGF on August 27, 2015 by President Buhari but was sacked on Monday, October 30, together with the equally suspended Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) boss, Ayo Oke, over allegations of corruption.

The two were sacked based on the recommendations of an investigative panel set up by the Federal Government, headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The president also unveiled the Armed Forces remembrance day emblem.
