Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has said Arsenal and Liverpool have a good chance of claiming the English Premier League (EPL) title this season following the slump of league champions, Manchester City.

The Citizens’ hope of becoming the first Premier League side to win five consecutive titles took another blow on Saturday, as they were hammered 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium by visiting Tottenham Hotspur.

Prior to the annihilation from Spurs, Pep Guardiola’s side had uncharacteristically lost 4 consecutive games in all competitions.

This means Liverpool could go eight points clear of Man City if they win at Southampton on Sunday.

Arsenal are also one point behind the champions, following their 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking on Man City’s poor form on Sky Sports, Neville said Arsenal and Liverpool do not have any excuse if they fail to win the EPL title this season.

He, however, added that he believes Arsenal have a better chance of winning the league despite Liverpool’s advantage.

He said, “If you’re Arsenal or Liverpool — you must feel there’s no excuses now.

“I’m looking more at Arsenal with that statement. This was Arsenal’s season if it wasn’t going to be City’s.”
