Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association mourns Ogbonnaya Onu

Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association has commiserated with the family of the late first civilian governor of old Abia State, Ogbonnaya Onu.
Onu, who was also Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation during the Muhammadu Buhari administration, died on Thursday in Abuja after spending three weeks in the hospital.
He was aged 72.
Mourning him, the association in a statement on Friday signed by its president, Chinedu Ukatu, said: “On behalf of the Executives, and members of our great Association (NDIGBOAMAKA PROGRESSIVE MARKETS ASSOCIATION) we extend our condolences on the death of His Excellency Ogbonnaya Onu.
“The news of the demise of one of the illustrious son of Igbo land, His Excellency Ogbonnaya Onu came to us as a surprise and shocking.

“Chief Onu is a visionary and an exemplary leader. He was the first Governor of Abia State and a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“His Excellency Ogbonnaya Onu has contributed immensely to the growth of the nation.
“His death is highly regrettable, at the age of 72 years, we will surely miss his wealth of experience.
“His track records of achievements speak volumes about him. We have lost a gem.
“We pray that God grants his immediate family the fortitude to bear this loss and may his soul rest in the Bossom of the Lord.”
