Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has revealed he was disappointed and shocked after Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup billed for Qatar later this year.
The Super Eagles, after playing a goalless draw in the first leg of the World Cup qualifier in Kumasi, once again played a 1-1 draw with the Black Stars in Abuja on Tuesday night, consequently crashing out of the World Cup to an away goal rule.
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey got Ghanas’ goal in the 11th minute while William Troost Ekong equalized for Nigeria through a penalty 11 minutes later, as the match ended in a draw after full time.

However, Ndidi, who missed the 2022 FIFA World Cup African double-header playoffs due to injury, took to his Twitter handle to express regret and sadness over the Super Eagles’ 2022 World Cup disappointment.
“Wow,” the Leicester City star tweeted with a wailing Emoji.
The defensive midfielder was a big miss in the match, as his leadership in the middle of the pack was greatly missed.
