The National Assembly has summoned President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria to appear before the Senate and House of Representatives.
The Senate in concurrence with the Resolution of the House of Representatives, has agreed to invite the President, with regards to the persistent recession.
The summon was after a unanimous yes vote after it was put into vote by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who presided over Thursday’s plenary session.
With the invitation, Buhari, who would address a joint Session of the National Assembly, would intimate the lawmakers on his administration’s plans to get Nigeria out of the present economic recession.
The briefing by President Buhari, it is believed, would enable the National Assembly take further legislative action.
