Nangere LG donates relief materials to flood victims

The Chairman of Nangere Local Government Area, Yobe State, Alhaji Baba Langawa, has donated food item worth thousands of naira to the flood victims in the council.

Distributing the materials to the victims at Sabon Garin Nangere, Headquaters of the council, Langawa explained that they would be shared across the 11 electoral wards of the area.

He said, “When the heavy downpour occurred, houses, farmlands and foodstuffs were affected. We resolved with my council to acquire the relief materials in addition to the 100 bags of maize donated to us by the state Minister of Works and Housing.

 “We have purchased 165 bags of guinea corn, 220 blankets, 225 mats among other things.

 “Please, don’t sell or divert these items, we’re watching you and would continue to monitor you as more support are coming”.

He said that the relief materials were meant to cushion the effects of the flood disaster on the victims, calling on them to consider the flood disaster as an act of God.

Besides,  DPM, Usman Hassan Makeri, had advised the victims to ensure judicious use of the relief materials for the intended.
