Nabeeha’s siblings regain freedom, return to Abuja

The four remaining siblings of late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah have finally regained freedom.

The four victims are Najeeba, a 500-level Quantity Surveying student, her younger sister Nadherah, 300-level Zoology student, both of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna and their twin sisters, Habeeba and Haneesa.

Their release remaining siblings was confirmed on Sunday morning by the Police Public Relations Officer, Federal Capital Territory Police (FCT ) command, Josephine Adeh.

According to the PPRO, they were rescued by the FCT Anti-Kidnapping squad in a concerted effort with troops of the Nigerian Army.

She also said the victims were rescued around Kajuru forest in Kaduna State, Saturday night.

“The operatives successfully rescued the victims around Kajuru forest in Kaduna state at about 11:30 pm on Saturday”, she said.

Also expressing appreciation after their release in a statement signed by their uncle,  Sherifdeen Al-Kadriyah, the family thanked Nigerians for standing by them during the trying and traumatic period.

“Words cannot express the immense gratitude and relief we feel at this moment. It is a true testament to the power of faith and the unwavering support and prayers from every one of you. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Allah for His mercy and guidance throughout this difficult time.”

TheNiche had earlier reported that the sisters alongside their father were abducted in the Zuma 1 area of Bwari Area Council of FCT on January 2nd.

Their father was later released to enable him source for ransom. However, the failure of the family to meet the demand of the abductors led to the killing of Nabeeha.

After the 400 level student of ABU was murdered, the bandits raised the ransom from N60 million to N100 million with a threat to kill all the sisters.

The development attracted sympathy and condemnation from concerned Nigerians who offered assistance to ensure the remaining sisters were not killed.
