Former governor of Lagos State and a national chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said that his winning of the presidential ticket of the ruling party is a foregone conclusion.

He expressed this confidence on Wednesday in Ilorin when he met with the Kwara State delegates to the party’s presidential primary election scheduled for May 29.

Tinubu described himself as the only real contender for the presidential ticket of the party, describing others in the race as gamblers.

He told market women leaders at the meeting that his presidency will be theirs because he is part of them.

Tinubu described himself as the first born of a market woman leader

“It is your (the market women) turn to be president. We are going to emerge the next president,” he said.

The presidential aspirant said he has all it takes to make Nigeria great if he is elected president of the country.

He said, “I can navigate the road to prosperity, I know the road to education because I believe in it, I know the way to tackle the problem of insecurity bedeviling the country.”

Tinubu who commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his achievements in the state urged him not to allow looters to return to power.

“We are going to work together because we will not go back to the time of the termite, we cannot allow the state to be governed by fools.”

While thanking the governor for the warm reception accorded him in the state, Tinubu said because he has returned Kwara to prosperity, his second term in office was certain.

Speaking earlier, Abdulrazaq expressed appreciation to Tinubu for assisting the APC to take over governance in the state adding “we can’t thank you enough for helping us take power in this state. It’s not about money, he provided logistics for night meetings in his house in Abuja.”

“We are trying to achieve in Kwara State what Asiwaju achieved in Lagos State in the areas of education, civil servants welfare and internally generated revenue (IGR). We have started by revamping the basic education sector and full payment of the N30,000 minimum wage”.

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi described Tinubu as the liberator of the state.

The APC chairman thanked Tinubu for his support for the party during the 2019 elections.

Tinubu was accompanied to the venue of the event by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and former governor of Borno State, Kassim Shettima, as well as the Mutawalli of Ilorin, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq.

Tinubu had earlier visited the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, in his palace.
