Former Big Brother Naija season 6 housemate, Ikechukwu Sunday Okonkwo, better known as Cross has revealed that his mum, who is an evangelist, was initially against his participation in the reality TV show.
Cross made this known in a Facebook live interview with PUNCH Online earlier in the week, where he revealed that his mum was uncomfortable with the idea of going into the house.
According to him, his mum who is a pastor, does not know the workings of social media, entertainment industry or the TV reality show, Big Brother Nigeria. So he had to explain what the show was all about to her.
He also said, the fact that he became very sad after missing out of the last edition of the show, made it easier to convince her this time around.
“My mum is a pastor – an evangelist – and she wasn’t used to these social media stuff and entertainment stuff or even Big Brother. So I had to explain to her little by little how it was and she said it was okay.
“Last year, when I almost went in, she knew how sad I was when I didn’t go in. So it was a bit easier to convince her, especially because of that.” He said.
Meanwhile, Cross mum who lives in Canada flew into the country to surprise his son at the final show, the 30-year old on seeing his mum, was so elated, that he screamed and jumped out of his seat to hug her mum.
