MTN almost fired me over allegation of wife beating, says Frank Edoho

Ace presenter of the then TV programme ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire‘  sponsored by MTN, Frank Edoho, has denied the allegation of domestic violence against his wife during a podcast hosted by Chude Jideonwo.

According to a snippet of the podcast to be aired on Monday, Edoho said he was summoned by top executives of MTN to answer the allegation of domestic violence. He revealed that the interview was just a formality as the panel had decided his fate, waiting only for him to talk before handing him his sack letter.

He said: “I was in the UK when my boss called me that the sponsors (of Who Wants to be a Millionaire) are hearing things about domestic violence and they don’t want you to present the show again.”

MTN was the sponsor of the show which was one of the biggest TV programmes on air.

He said the sponsor fixed a meeting for the next day and even his explanation that there was no available flight was not accepted.

He said he managed to get a flight and once at the meeting, the women on the panel were unfriendly. But when he narrated the whole experience he endured in the marriage, the women on the panel started shedding tears.
