Mr Macaroni calls out Akpabio, poor citizens have not received subsidy palliative

Skit maker and social media activist Debo Adebayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has called out Senate President Godswill Akpabio for encouraging National Assembly (NASS) members to live in luxury while poor citizens can hardly feed.
Bola Tinubu has allocated N70 billion to federal lawmakers from the N500 billion budgeted for subsidy palliatives, a move critics interpret as a bribe to enable the President control the NASS.
If the money is shared equally, the 469 federal lawmakers will get N149 million each.
On the other hand, 12 million households are earmarked N8,000 per month each for six months, a total N48,000 per household, but Abuja has yet to give a dime to any household because it says it is reviewing the amount based on public outcry.
Lawmakers, who earn huge salaries, need not work for more than 180 days a year, and Senators this week began another recess from which they will resume on September 26.
Mr Macaroni lamented that while Nigerians are going through a hardscrabble existence their leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays.
His reaction followed a video circulating online in which Akpabio at plenary on Tuesday announced to his colleagues “the Senate President has sent some tokens (‘prayers’) to your various [bank] accounts to enable you enjoy your holiday.”
The disclosure has attracted many negative comments from Nigerians.
“The Senate President has sent very expensive prayers out of the insufficient blessings of over 200 million people to himself and his already blessed colleagues at the National Assembly,” Mr Macaroni said in his own reaction on Twitter.”

Leaders enjoying while asking followers to bear hardship
“These are the leaders that have asked struggling Nigerians to make sacrifices if they want things to work in the country. So while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, our leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays,” Mr Macaroni added, per Daily Post.
“Who are those that should be making sacrifices if not our leaders? Do our leaders understand that leadership is about service, selfishness and sacrifice?
“Why do the poor people of Nigeria have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders?? Why??? This isn’t leadership!!!”
