Stella Maris, the wife of ailing Nollywood actor, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has alleged that the thespian’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, hijacked money donated for his surgery.

Mr Ibu last month took to social media to seek financial assistance from his fans and other netizens as he battled an undisclosed ailment.

However,  despite responses to his clarion call by Nigerians, one of his legs was eventually amputated after undergoing seven surgeries.

Speaking on the development on Monday, via her Instagram page, Mr Ibu’s wife, Stella Maris, alleged that she has no access to the account assigned for the donations given to her husband.

She went on to add that Jasmine has been the one secretly managing and controlling the bank account.

The actor’s wife also seized the opportunity to address claims by her husband’s adopted daughter that she received N1 million and spent it on herself.

Taking to her social media page, Stella Maris wrote: “The N1 million donation that I received was paid into my account in the presence of my husband to offset some bills at the home front. I don’t understand why Jasmine, a complete stranger, should be dragging me over my family matters.

“I don’t have access to the main Access Bank account where people make donations. It is secretly being controlled by Jasmine yet she is cooking up all kinds of lies against me in order to keep absolute control of that account. How she manipulated her way and took control of the account is a story for another day,”
