Monarch commends electorate for peaceful accreditation

Mr Audu Mesharu, the paramount ruler of Tangale in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State, has commended the people of the area for conducting themselves peacefully during accreditation for Saturday’s election.

Mesharu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Billiri on Saturday, shortly after he was accredited, that the turnout of voters was impressive, compared to the March 28 presidential election.

He further appealed to the people to patiently wait and vote as they were accredited.

“Vote a candidate of your choice, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

“I am not partisan; I have only one vote; everybody should vote a leader of his choice.

“I do not want a situation whereby people will be saying I instructed them to vote a particular candidate.

He further called on the candidates to accept the outcome of the result in good faith.

“Remember God gives power to whom He wishes; therefore it is good to accept defeat,” he said.
