A former presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu, has suggested that the All Progressives Congress ( APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) should merge ahead of the 2023 election.
Moghalu says the advice became necessary because the two parties share a lot in common, hence, no need to have them bearing two different names.

In a tweet, Moghalu says the call to have two strong parties could materialize if the APC and the PDP merge together on the one side against a credible alternative which he says the Africa Democratic Congress ( ADC) provides.
Moghalu recently joined the ADC from the YPP where he contested the 2019 election.
He is expected to announce his interest in the presidency under the ADC platform.
In the tweet against the APC and the PDP, he says: “To all those who tell us about “two-party system” so they can justify surrendering to a status quo that produces no progress, I say APC PDP should merge because they are the same party really, and then we can have a CREDIBLE alternative party. That’s two parties right there! #ADC. “
