Ministerial Appointment: Nwagba congratulates Onyejeocha, urges her to make womenfolk proud

Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Abia South in the February 25 senatorial election, has congratulated her friend and sister, Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha OON, on her recent appointment and successful Inauguration as the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment.

She also commended president Bola Tinubu for the opportunity given to more women to serve in his cabinet.

In her message of goodwill made available to the press, Dr Nwagba, a former member of Abia State House of Assembly and chieftain of the ruling APC, described Hon Onyejeocha as ‘a go-getter and seasoned parliamentarian who has distinguished herself in all her previous assignments’.
Nwagba said she has no doubt that Onyejeocha will excel in her new assignment.

Hon. Nwagba recalled that the last woman from Abia State in the person Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who served in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), made the state, the nation and most importantly the womenfolk proud. She, therefore, urged, Hon Onyejeocha, to continue in that laudable path of honour and make the state, the nation and her constituency – the women – proud in this national assignment.

Hon Nwagba, an advocate for women inclusion in governance, also seized the opportunity to thank President Bola Tinubu, GCFR for considering Hon Onyejeocha and other women worthy to serve in his cabinet.

She prayed to God Almighty to grant Hon Onyejeocha the wisdom, understanding and perseverance needed for her to excel in her new assignment
