There will be no governorship election in Ondo in 2015 general elections but election into the State House of Assembly will hold across the state as gubernatorial election in the state will hold next year October.

In a statement issued in Akure, the state capital by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, Mimiko said that voting for the candidates of the PDP would guarantee continuity of peace and prospects of the state.

The governor was quoted as saying that the people should demonstrate their desire to maintain and further promote the peace and growth in the state by voting for the PDP candidates jostling for seats in the state’s legislature.

Mimiko thanked the people for their support and noted that if the PDP had majority in the State Assembly, it would promote mutual cooperation and synergy between the legislative and the executive arms of government.

He said that he had used the instrumentality of government to affect positively the lives of the less-privileged in the areas of education, urban renewal and healthcare, stressing that his achievements were not hidden from the public.

He debunked the rumour that some members of his cabinet had shifted their allegiance from the PDP, saying that the defection of his deputy, Alhaji Alli Olanusi, to the All Progressives Congress had not affected the allegiance of his commissioners adding that the government was resolved to do more for the state.
