After months of speculation and secret consultations, Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has finally defected to the People Democratic Party (PDP).
He rose to the Alagbaka government, Akure, where he is spending out his second term on the platform of Labour Party (LP).
He officially declared for PDP on Thursday October 2 at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
In late August, Mimiko had declared his intention to defect to PDP, the party which he dumped to dust up LP in Ondo State to contest the governorship election against late Dr. Olusegun Agagu in 2007.
He lost out at the election but after a protracted legal battle, he was declared the winner in 2009 by a court and thus replaced Agagu.
