Nigerians are angry that Boko Haram mass murderers are given assistance by the Nigerian military to seek for forgiveness for their crimes instead of appearing before a judge and be charged for terrorism.
On Twitter, Nigerians wondered how the military could be involved in producing the placards for the terrorists who killed thousands of their men.
@bulamabukarti tweets: “These are ‘repentant’ Boko Haram members paraded by the Nigerian Army. They’re supposedly seeking forgiveness by carrying placards written by someone in a language they don’t understand, nor most of their victims. Is this how to atone for terror? Does anyone think this will work?”
@renoomkri says: “The Buhari junta shared photos of so-called repentant Boko Haram and asked Nigerians to forgive them. Does it make sense to ask Nigerians to forgive people who killed innocent Nigerians when the Buhari regime want to prosecute Igboho for protecting the innocent?”
Omokri added: “Every Southerner that still supports the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu and the persecution of Sunday Igboho, after watching this government parade hardened Boko Haram killers and asking us to forgive them, is a Southerner that should be rejected by their community.”

@simon_ekpa adds: “Nigeria Army now designs placards. They design and hand them over to their lovers Boko Haram to display to Nigerians.”
The governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, had in the past argued that the rehabilitation and deradicalisation program is not working as those rehabilitated return to join their group.
A senator from Borno State, Ali Ndume, has also said the ‘repentant Boko Haram members become spies for their colleagues in the forest after the purported deradicalization.
