Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has advised Bayer Leverkusen coach, Xabi Alonso to snub his former team and join Bayern Munich this summer.
The current Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel is expected to leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the season following a not so impressive season.
Similarly, current Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp will be leaving the Reds voluntarily at the end of the season.
As a result of these developments, Alonso, a former Liverpool and Bayern Munich midfielder, has been linked with both clubs this summer.
However, speaking about the dilemma faced by the Spanish tactician, Owen said it would be a dangerous move for Alonso to join Liverpool, adding that he should instead take the Bayern job.

The ex-England international went on to say Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp play a style of football that is different from what Alonso adopts at Bayer Leverkusen.
“It’s a big dilemma for Xabi Alonso. He is not been a manager long so I think the safer option is going to Bayern Munich. Straight away the team will be back to winning the league, it is virtually a given. So for his progression, his stock is only going to go absolutely through the roof if he makes that safe move to Bayern.” Michael Owen said (via GOAL).
He added: “Liverpool is a dangerous move. Following Jurgen Klopp is going to be so difficult. They don’t play in the style of play of Xabi Alonso at the moment, they play a different style, so it might not be that easy to convert.”
